Job Description:The General Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing essential tasks related to inventory management, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse organization. This role requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. Key Responsibilities:Receiving and Unloading Shipments: Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.Compare packing lists and invoices to verify item quantities and condition.Record and report discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor.Inventory Management: Store products in the appropriate locations within the warehouse.Maintain an organized and clean workspace, ensuring goods are easily accessible.Keep accurate counts of inventory and assist with regular stock checks.Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move inventory safely.Order Fulfillment: Pick and pack items according to customer orders, ensuring correct items and quantities are prepared.Label and prepare products for shipment, including the use of barcodes and packing slips.Assist in loading products onto trucks for delivery.Shipping and Delivery: Assist in preparing shipments by ensuring all necessary paperwork, labeling, and documentation is completed.Work with shipping carriers to ensure products are sent out on time and in good condition.Quality Control: Inspect products for damage or defects before packing and shipping.Ensure items are stored in appropriate conditions to maintain their quality.Follow safety guidelines and warehouse procedures to minimize errors and accidents.Warehouse Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by following housekeeping and safety procedures.Assist in routine cleaning of the warehouse, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and organizing storage areas.Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse workers, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth workflow.Communicate effectively to address issues, resolve problems, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
